Who can apply for NEET UG
Academic Qualification
Passed 12th with Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English, minimum 50% aggregate (40% for reserved categories).
NEET UG Score
A valid, qualifying NEET UG rank in the current admission cycle — no direct MBBS/BDS admission without it.
Age Criteria
Minimum 17 years by 31st December of the admission year; upper age limit as per latest NMC guidelines.

How NEET UG seat allotment works
AIQ Round 1 & 2
15% All-India Quota seats allotted by MCC through two online rounds.
State Quota Rounds
85% state quota seats allotted by respective state counselling authorities, including Maharashtra.
Mop-Up Round
Remaining vacant seats filled through a mop-up round after regular rounds close.
Stray Vacancy Round
Last-chance round for any seats still vacant, often with relaxed eligibility windows.

Who is eligible for NEET UG counselling?
Any candidate who has qualified NEET UG (scored at or above the category cut-off) can register. All India Quota counselling has no domicile requirement, while state-quota counselling also requires you to meet that state's domicile and eligibility rules.
What is the difference between AIQ and state NEET counselling?
All India Quota (15% of government seats plus deemed and central institutes) is conducted centrally by the MCC and needs no domicile. State-quota counselling (85% of government seats) is run by each state for its domicile candidates. Most students register for both.
How many rounds are there in NEET UG counselling?
Usually multiple rounds — typically Round 1, Round 2, a Mop-Up round and a Stray Vacancy round — each with its own registration, choice filling, seat allotment and reporting.
What documents are required for NEET UG counselling?
Your NEET admit card and rank letter, Class 10 and 12 marksheets, a valid photo ID, passport-size photographs, and a category, PwD or domicile certificate if applicable. Carry originals plus photocopies.
When will NEET UG 2026 counselling start?
After the NEET UG result is declared. MCC and each state announce their exact 2026 schedules through official notices — check them for confirmed dates.
Can I take part in both AIQ and state counselling?
Yes. You can register for MCC (All India Quota) and your state counselling at the same time to maximise your chances, and accept the better seat as the rounds progress.
