Documents Required for NEET UG Counselling 2026
By the Envision Career Counselling Team · Last updated: 31 July 2026
In short: For NEET UG counselling you need your NEET admit card and rank letter, Class 10 & 12 marksheets, a photo ID, passport photos, and — if applicable — a category, PwD or domicile certificate. Carry originals plus 2–3 self-attested photocopy sets. Fix any name or date-of-birth mismatch before reporting.
NEET counselling document checklist
Keep originals + 2–3 self-attested photocopy sets + clear scans of each of the following ready for registration, choice filling and reporting:
- NEET UG 2026 admit card
- NEET UG result / scorecard / rank letter
- Class 10 marksheet & certificate (proof of date of birth)
- Class 12 marksheet & passing certificate
- Photo ID — Aadhaar, passport, PAN, voter ID or driving licence
- 8–10 passport-size photographs matching your NEET application photo
- Provisional allotment letter (generated after seat allotment, for reporting)
- Caste / category certificate (SC / ST / OBC-NCL / EWS) — if claiming reservation
- PwD certificate from a designated centre — if applicable
- Domicile / residence certificate — for state-quota counselling
Category & reservation certificates
| Category | Certificate needed | Key point |
|---|---|---|
| OBC | OBC-NCL certificate (central format for AIQ) | Must be non-creamy-layer and in the validity window in the notice. |
| EWS | EWS income & asset certificate (prescribed format) | Issued for the correct financial year; check income limit. |
| SC / ST | Caste certificate from competent authority | Name and category must match your NEET application. |
| PwD | Disability certificate from a designated NEET PwD centre | Only certificates from authorised centres are accepted. |
See our reservation & quota guide for eligibility details.
How document verification works
Verification happens at your allotted college (for MCC/AIQ) or at designated centres/online (for many state counsellings). Officials check your originals against your registration and allotment details. Once verified, some original certificates are retained by the college until course completion, and you receive an acknowledgement.
Upload formats & photocopies
- Scan documents clearly in the required file type (usually PDF/JPG) and size limits stated on the portal.
- Photographs and signatures often have separate size specs — match them exactly.
- Self-attest photocopies (sign across them) where asked.
- Keep a labelled digital folder so you can re-upload instantly if a file is rejected.
Fixing a name or date-of-birth mismatch
If your name or date of birth differs across documents (common between Class 10, Aadhaar and category certificates), carry a linking proof — a gazette notification, affidavit, or corrected certificate — that officially connects the two versions. Where possible, get the discrepancy corrected before reporting so verification is not held up.
